Make a child’s holiday brighter

Every year, kids in your neighborhood and across San Diego spend their holidays in the hospital. Any day is difficult to be a child in the hospital or to have a child in the hospital, but the holidays are a particularly difficult time to be away from home. We Light the Way to show these kids and families that they are not alone the San Diego community is with them and is fundraising to ensure they receive the very best medical care, today and for generations to come.

In years past, our partners and friends gathered outside our hospital to wave and sing a festive goodnight to our patients watching from the windows. Last year we went fully digital with an animated show that played directly into patient rooms, while simultaneously raising over $350,000 to support the life-saving work being done every day at Rady Children’s. If you were not able to join for either, take a look at our video from 2019 and video from 2020 to see what Light the Way is all about.

This year, on Dec. 16, we’ll have an internal celebration for patients in the hospital while our top fundraisers come together at the Rady Children’s Ice Rink at Liberty Station to say “We’re here for you” and enjoy a special evening from a few miles down the road. We hope to see you there.
