You may not know this but Pediatric Inflammatory Brain Disorders are not well known but are commonly misdiagnosed for a psychiatric condition because of the symptoms that children will exhibit. Some of the common symptoms include; OCD, anxiety, movement issues, tics, regression in cognitive abilities and rapid change of mood and behaviors, which might seem to appear overnight. This is something that is very near and dear to my family's heart. I want to make a real difference in the lives of these children and their families who rely on Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego for care, so I created a Miracle Maker fundraising page to help fund a Fellowship for two years beginning in 2021. The Fellow will do extensive research with their UCSD partner to gain perspective and understanding of PIBD which is debilitating and life altering and improve treatment options for families. The fellow will work with the newly created Pediatric Inflammatory Brain Disorders Clinic that Rady Children's has initiated to give hope and treat in a multi-disciplinary solution including specialists in Neurology, Psychiatry, Infectious Disease, and Rheumatology.
Please consider supporting me by making a donation to my fundraising page so children struck down with this sudden onset of symptoms will have the opportunity to regain their childhood and live the bright life they were meant to lead. The process is fast, and secure, and you will be giving a precious gift to children that may be otherwise lost to a psychiatric diagnosis.
Thank you for your support, with much gratitude!
