Good morning CALI Family,
Beginning Tuesday, September 15, California Allstars is Going for Gold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month!
Childhood cancer is not rare - it is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 14 in the U.S. CALI is launching our GO GOLD campaign to support the kids in our lives and our communities who are fighting their own childhood cancer fight!
We’re asking all teams this week to not only support awareness by wearing GOLD at their practices (or choreo if your team has that this week!), but also read & share some of the facts of childhood cancer.
43 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every day.
Approximately 10% of children with cancer develop the disease because they inherited a genetic mutation.
About 420,000 adults in the U.S. are childhood cancer survivors. More than 95% of childhood cancer survivors have significant treatment-related health issues.
1 in 11 families will declare bankruptcy while their child is fighting cancer.
Chances of winning the lottery 1 in 175,000,000.
Chances of your child getting cancer 1 in 285.
We are proud to partner with one of our local cancer treatment centers at Rady Children’s Hospital. You can donate directly to our page here and help us reach out goal!
